Random phone call out of the blue, late at night. Wanting to confirm personal information Is this number Lexington law or not? Or Rent2Own homes cos it claimed 2 be both@? There was a man's voice in background laughing & playing like he was at a party and I couldn't hear the caller speak 2 me; had 2 ask her about the laughing man in background.. She said that was her husband. Just random scammer party line, I think. Caller wanted me 2 read back its phone number on my phone 2 confirm something too.. VERY Possible this call is a huge SCAM.. . They didn't get my bank card info tho. I just wont answer random phone calls anymore.

The first man who called came from "700 Life' and then he connected me with another man claiming to be from "Lexington Law Firm" The first man wanted to give me a loan despite my currently low credit score. The second man offered me the chance to settle debt. Both men spoke in a very believable manner. The second man wanted me to sign up for $14.99 and then pay $109.95 per month for an undefined period in order to help me fix my credit. I have been ill and he sounded very sympathetic to my situation. He really seemed to care, and promised that his firm could help. He claimed that they settled 10 million debts during their 15 years in business. While 700 Life and Lexington Law Firm are each real companies, the people making the calls are bad actors. Good in that they are believable, but truthfully bad because they actually work for the companies they claim to represent, and then only want to sign you up for useless services for the monthly fee for as long as they can until the victim figures it all out. Luckily for me, I cam here and now I know I was being scammed.

I got a call from this number, heard them out and looked for key phrases. I work for a debt collection co under contract of the DOE, So I was concerned about how they had my info because I see how things SHOULD and do work. I called Lexington Law after and they were able to pick up where I left off with the man from this number. Not a scam, but paying $109.99 a month just for them to send "intimidating letters" to lenders holding loans is not much of a service. My advise: pay your debt off. It's rare that I get cases at my office that I can actually process a dispute for, If it's on your report and you haven't filed a police report for fraud, there is absolutely nothing you can do through agencies or firms like Lexington Law. Pay it off, be responsible with building credit, do what you can afford. Best advice from a Debt Collector.
