Message stated they needed to speak with me regarding a prescription recall. I checked the Walmart pharmacy website and found no recall info. Scammers?

I got the same call and called my pharmacy to verify. She confirmed that there is a recall on Pravastatin. Fortunately, my Walmart pharmacy was not effected. She recommended calling the # back or it will continue to call you.

Urgent that I call regarding a prescription recall. I believe my local Wal Mart pharmacy would inform me if there was a prescription recall. Has to be a scam.

Received 2 calls, one at 7:35PM Pacific time, and another one 1 hour later. I answered the second call. The "caller" was a recording supposedly from Walmart and wanting to know if I was (first and lastname) then wanting to know my social security number. At that point I smelled a scam and hung up..

This could be for real, I take this medication and it comes in this bottle. Here is the FDA link about it. https://www.fda.gov/Safety/Recalls/ucm571019.htm

I called my local Walmart provider. She confirmed it is a valid recall and said I need to bring my pills in so they can make sure I received the proper ones. The pills in question are for depression and were mislabeled.

Clarification to above: It IS a recall for Pravastatin -- the depression pills were used in error. They want to look at your pills to make sure they are, indeed, pravastatin.

I called the Walmart 844 number but it was a recording and asked for personal information that I didn't want to give out. I checked the FDA link listed in a previous comment and saw that there is a valid Pravastatin 40 recall. It was not the lot number of the prescription that I received but I emailed the International Laboratories email address just to make sure.. I told them what my lot number is and they responded to me immediately and said mine was not affected by the recall..

I didn't pick up but got a message that it was from Walmart regarding a medication recall. The message asked to call back and I did. Answering machine asked input for verification. Then described the recall medicine which I am using. I later search in the www.recalls.gov and find the med is on the list.

This was real, NOT a scam. It was about a cholesterol prescription I take that had an additive not supposed to be in it. I took mine in to have a new one filled in exchange.
