I recognized the robo-voice on the recording as a common "Microsoft" Windows scam where the caller claims to be "tech support" - this guy claimed my "license" had expired and he was going to "restore" it.
So before I called the number (the same as all the others here), I loaded Skype, turned my MP3 Recorder app on and called - and recorded the ENTIRE conversation.. Having 35 years in small computers, programming and IT is a bit of an advantage, but I'd still like to meet these jerks face-to-face for what they cost people.
I'll figure out some way, somewhere, to post the recording, as the guy is smooth as silk, even when I asked him "what version of Windows do I have" and he wasn't even close.
Ask them certain things about your system - these guys will NOT know the answers.
I just love to torture these guys and waste their time!
