I missed a call from this phone number at 9:PM EST. When I called it back, the recorded message claimed that their office is only open between 8:AM and 5:PM EST. Seems to me that if you're going to try to scam people, you should at least be intelligent enough to get the timing right? LOL

This is a collection agency, Unique something or other. My connection with them is overdue library fines, not sure who else they collect for.

I just got a phone call from this number and when I called back the recording said that they are a collection. Agency and that their buisness hours are from 8-5 Eastern time so why are they calling someone at 745 pm Pacific time. I think its a scam.

I was awoken in the middle of the night looked at my cell and didnt recognize the # so this morning I googled it and here I am. I didn't want to call it back, and now I know it is some scam, so thanx for the info!

Didn't answer and came to look it up. The person who said it's a collections number that is collected for a library fine makes sense. Just discovered I have like a 40 dollar fine at my library and haven't gotten around to paying it yet, so that is likely the reason for the call.

Same as last recent posts. I received a call from this number at about 7:15 pm MST here in Utah. It only took me 10 mins to use this site to look up the number and call back. No answer. Just the same message. I don't owe a collections agency, especially not for library fines! Idk who this is but they are most likely just that, a collections office. Ignore it. Nice website by the way. :-)

I don't owe any library fines and I actually work for a telecommunications company. The number that they keep calling me on is my Google voice number which isn't listed on any dialer that I know of.... and when they call there is either no one there or they don't bother asking for any particular person, just tell me I owe blah blah blah. Idk if it's a scam or a legitimate collection agency but boy is it annoying. So happy I only take calls at work, I imagine having to make them is as terrible as receiving Telemarketing calls is.

I just got a call today from them at 9 pm, yes it's a collection agency collecting for unpaid library debt.

Missed call from number around 19:50 and Google'd the number which led me here. From the looks the comments that it's a collection agency looking to collect on "overdue library fees". Seeing as how I have no library membership anywhere, this is most definitely a scam. Do not pay any fees to this so-called "agency".

I recognize this number..they are trying to get me for some library materials which I returned over the weekend when my local library had a "amnesty" weekend. But no worries here as I plan on blocking these a-holes from calling my cellphone tomorrow....

OMG STOP CALLING ME DURING SCHOOL HOURS IM A KID JESUS CHRIST TRYING TO GET ME IN TROUBLE!

Same thing as everyone else, library fines that need to be paid. They just call and hang up. Have not been able to actually hear a recording on the other side of the line.

Just received a call at 7:58pm central time, didnt recognize # so I ignored it as they called my cellphone, if its for library fines i wonder how they get a number the library doesnt even have?

collection compant for overdue library fines!! yes. believe it or not!!

This company collects library fines. It is not a scam. Return your books or pay them and the problem is solved. Outbound calling is usually done by automated messaging, which is why it is after "business hours" when you try to call back right after.

This number is definitely legitimate. I work for the library (believe it or not, I have library fines, too)... and this is the company that is outsourced to collect library fines for missing and overdue library books. There are a couple things you can do before talking to them or outright paying your bill... 1. Return your books/overdue materials. Most of the collections total is the replacement cost of the materials that are overdue. Return them and all you have to pay is a $20 collection fee. 2. Pay directly at the library. If you're afraid of giving any information to the collection agency - the safest and most reasonable thing to do would be to go directly to the library and inquire about the status of your account, then go from there. If you are convinced these collections are in error or belong to someone else, you will need to go to the library and see why someone else is using your information. It is also possible someone has stolen or found and used your library card. Bring your picture ID.

I received a call from them this morning, they said my grandsons guardian or parent needed to call or visit the library that the call was about his library card. I asked what the problem was and if he owed overdue book fines, the man I was speaking to said the library gave him no information and to just have his parents contact the library. I plan on going today and will update this post.

Caller ID said "Jeffersonvil IN". Lots of comments here say it's for library fines, and we do have some that we owe that I know went to collections. Suppose it is legit--though I didn't pick up the phone.

I got a missed call around 5:30pm today. I have not used a library in years. And last time I had I didn't have any late fees. So hope they stop calling,

I work at 2 in the morning. After taking sleeping pills (the only way for me to sleep), my phone rings at 8:20 pm MST and wakes me up after I've been sleeping for only a half hour. If this is a legit number, then they need to have a little care for the person they're calling.

Your Rights

If you're subjected to harassing robocalls or debt collection calls, you have rights under the Telephone Consumer Protection Act and the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act. Each of these federal consumer protection laws prohibits callers and debt collectors from engaging in certain types of activities. These activities can include:

  • Calling before 8:00 a.m. or after 9:00 p.m.
  • Robocalling your cell phone without your consent
  • Calling you at work after you've told them you're not allowed to receive calls
  • Using profanity or abusive language
  • Threatening you with a lawsuit or arrest
  • Mistakenly calling you for a debt you don't owe
  • Texting your cell phone without permission
  • Sending you faxes without authorization

Under the law, you have the right to sue illegal callers in federal court. In fact, you can potentially recover up to $1,500 per call. Legal representation won’t cost you a penny, because the law says that illegal callers have to pay your attorney fees.
