Keep calling without speaking!

This is Chase Bank collection department. They have in-house collection departments so they don't have to comply with the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act, which only applies to outside debt collectors. About as shady as it gets, but that's nothing new for Chase or any other bank. As a debt collection attorney I sue these companies every chance I get, and if everyone that incurred this type of harassment did the same, the banks would stop harassing people

Yes, - these sleazy b******s don't even give a d**n about or your privacy, I don't even own a credit card and this is what I'm experiencing. Now day's they hide behind any legal loop hole that they can come up with. NOTE; The phone company say's do this : Press * 77 to block these corporate raiders now. And of course go to the "Do Not Call List" and register your number if you haven't all ready!

Call for John Winschell of Erie, PA, one of two deadbeats who once had my number of five years. Zach Stahlsmith in Jamestown, New York refuses to correct Chase Bank's alert records, so I get a monthly call from Chase Bank concerning his credit card ending in 2236.

they call me 5-6 times a day, but when I pick up no one is on the line.

Pretend to be Chase. I get these lately every day. So I called Chase since they are my bank. My Rep looked up my account & said you are in good standing there's nothing wrong. We did not have anyone from any part of the Bank call you. Don't answer or tell them anything it's a Scam. You can report these calls to abuse@chase.com

Everyone on here says it Chase Bank. But I never get a message & the one time I answered no one responded. They have called twice this morning once at 8 am & again at 10.30 Ca. time If I don't answer on this number they just call back using another number. While I'm writing this they have called me 2 more times using different phone numbers. I call my Chase banker yesterday. He looked at my account & said no one from Chase was authorized to call you, you're account is perfect. Do not answer these calls. If you answer do not give them any info re: your account number, check number, etc. They Are Not Chase,

I have not answered the phone call but today is the first time I've ever gotten calls from this number. They called at 8am this morning and again at 9:50am. Maybe I'll answer next time and see if anyone is on the other end...? Good to know this is not Chase as I have a couple of Chase cards that are in good standing. Thanks to everybody who have been posting and saying not to provide any info!

Okay, I answered this time. It IS Chase. They were calling because I made a payment over the phone re: my Amazon Chase account a week ago and the it was declined because the bank information was incorrect. I had him correct the information, reverse the late payment and apply a new payment. They gave me a confirmation number. THIS IS NOT A SCAM.

haven't answered it, but they don't leave a message. I have a couple of Chase cards plus my mortgage with them, so all of the above makes sense. thanks

They call me from various numbers every day. I have left my number to be taken off their list and contacted a live person for the same to no avail.....

They call all hours, and from all kinds of numbers. I just turn my phone off because they do not leave a number or tell me who is calling.

SCAM!!! DO NOT ANSWER!!! Calls nonstop 4 or more times a day for a solid week every few months then stops and starts again. They get the numbers through Chase and it's an old number (the number they call ISN'T the number Chase has or uses anymore). They are totally out of control and have interrupted so many things by calling from 830am - 1030pm. It'll make you insane and answering it only makes it worse. I have found that if you answer on a LANDLINE and immediately and relentlessly press # # # # a few dozen times and then hang up that the number that was calling sometimes stops. It supposedly makes the auto dialed think it's not a legit number. BUT THIS SCAM IS INSANE!!!!

They claimed to be from Chase bank so I called the actual Chase and asked them about the number 407-732-2416 and told them I've been getting computer generated calls from that number claiming to be from Chase bank. I was told they are NOT. They are scammers. Working from a Verizon line using that number as it is an old number they no longer use. Because of this, these scammers are able to trick and convenience other's they are really from Chase collections. They are not. Don't give them any info as they are phishing for your info to rip you off. Report all calls to chase and FBI @www.fbi.gov/scams-fraud

I'm getting them too. Chase will only call Mon-Fri after 9am central every 2 hours This a*****e is calling on weekends and weekdays. I'm thinking of getting some help with this one as they are scamming people. Chase was hacked around Sept. of 2014 and they have our names and account data. This is why we are getting these calls. www.fbi.gov/scams-fraud

I'm getting phone calls from this number 7 days/week from morning to as late as 10:30 pm for the past 2 weeks. At first, I didn't answer the phone because I don't recognize the number and I figured that they would leave an answering machine message if it was important (they never left a message). I finally answered the phone because they keep calling - nobody replied. Now I simply pick up the phone and hang up immediately. Thanks everyone else for leaving the tips above. I had a feeling that this was a phishing call - now it is confirmed.

I think it's JP Morgan Chase Bank calling. I didn't bother picking up, think it's bill collectors. If I don't recognize the number I don't pick up.

Your Rights

If you're subjected to harassing robocalls or debt collection calls, you have rights under the Telephone Consumer Protection Act and the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act. Each of these federal consumer protection laws prohibits callers and debt collectors from engaging in certain types of activities. These activities can include:

  • Calling before 8:00 a.m. or after 9:00 p.m.
  • Robocalling your cell phone without your consent
  • Calling you at work after you've told them you're not allowed to receive calls
  • Using profanity or abusive language
  • Threatening you with a lawsuit or arrest
  • Mistakenly calling you for a debt you don't owe
  • Texting your cell phone without permission
  • Sending you faxes without authorization

Under the law, you have the right to sue illegal callers in federal court. In fact, you can potentially recover up to $1,500 per call. Legal representation won’t cost you a penny, because the law says that illegal callers have to pay your attorney fees.
