Said he was from technical support and that my computer had stopped working. He didn't like it when I told him that I couldn't understand him and that he would be more successful trying to steal from me if he spoke better English. He totally left his script when I told him that I didn't know many Gavin Patels. Kept him on the line for 20 minutes insulting him until he hung up.

Caller said my computer was not working. I played along for a bit. The guy had a thick Indian accent and was difficult to understand. He told me to right click on my desktop and asked me what I saw. I told him nothing happened. He told me something is wrong with my computer and I should take it to the store to get it fixed. Then he hung up.

They said my computer was effected by illegal activities and they were stealing information. I played along and asked how could I fix it (I do not own a computer). He stated I should turn my computer on and right click the date and time. I said I did tthen he proceeded to ask me what the window said when I do that. I said "it says your a scamming piece a s**t and you can go f**k yourself". The caller laughed and said good one and hung up.

I foolishly let them do whatever they wanted which took about four hours. It seemed that they were legitimate, so I went along with it. I talked them down from about $600.00 to $402.00, but did not give them any credit card info. I said I would send them a check in about a three months. Their fee was to cover my new firewall and anti-virus for the life of my computer. I do not intend to give them any money, but they installed their number on the lower right hand corner of my screen so that I could contact them in the future. If they call me looking for the money, they can wait until Hell freezes over. Boy, was I dumb to have even let them have a response from me initially. I guess we all are vulnerable at one time or another. This entire procedure wasted a lot of my time, but at least I still have my $402.00.
