Message stated I would be arrested by the "local cops" unless I responded and that there were four "serious" allegations against me. Scam must have been thought-up by a six old.

IRS call about being arrested. I humored them for a few minutes to try and glean some kind of useful information (that went about as well as you'd think) but quickly just decided to make it clear not to bother me again by asking them more questions than they were comfortable with. They ended by saying to stay where I was that cops were on the way (this was after they asked for my name and address several times) and then they hung up.

Sounded like a Russian-programmed machine, as the script lacked articles (e.g. "the'). Pretty poor as scams go. I'd give it a D- (beats a failing grade only because it was so ridiculous, it was funny).

Last time they called they asked my name, I said they should already know. they said they wanted to verify my ID, I said Ben Smith. "Thank you Mr Smith" they said. I laughed saying that they just verified a false name. the guy told me to "go F--- myself" ... Yay! I won!

Got the same call today. Same message was left about serious allegations against me. I actually called the number back they wanted me to deposit money into a Wells Fargo bank account in order to avoid any kind of further action. Sounds pretty fishy

Same as above. "you will be taken under custody by the local cops." And "there are four serious allegations pressed on your name at this moment." They couldn't even bother to google proper law enforecement/legal lingo? Pathetic.
