I actually picked up and the guy gave me a message about calling him back to lower my electric bill. Definitely a robocall

Call from Michael with "first energy" sounded very legit. Looked into it, they call from a different electric supplier trying to get you to switch. They can trick you into agreeing to a long term contract that the rate will drastically increase on! Total "bait and switch" scam!

Caller said he was Michael from First Energy Electric and said my account does appear that I am eligible for a new lower rate. Call him back at 833-849-4839 (DIFFERENT NUMBER with a DIFFERENT AREA CODE) to get this new lower rate applied. I did not call it back because I knew it was a scam because every utility account we have is in my husband's name and they only have his phone number.

"Michael from First Energy" left the same message on our answering machine. He called from 888-403-6503, but left an 833 number for us to call back. Obviously a scam, but sounded pretty legit. Thanks for everyone's feedback!

I just received the same exact call from Michael. I also live in Strongsville. Ohio. He never said where he was calling from which immediately made me suspicious.
