I received a call from this number too. I am so thankful that my phone said, "scammers." So, I did not answer it. Quick question:Doesn't Publisher's Clearing House normally come to your home? Just a thought.

Unfortunately, you have to watch Portfolio Recovery as well. One is real and the rest are scammers. I know because I have received a few calls from them. I don't know how they were able to get the name Portfolio Recovery, unless they hacked the number somehow.

They have called multiple times seeking payment recovery for an account that I never owned or existed. They harass people and are full of BS and I urge everyone to report them if you get a call.

It is Portfolio Recovery Services. A known break the law debt collector. Ashley Coleman is the name they used in their last call.

I received a call from this number (859-795-5662) today. I never answer unknown numbers and they did not leave a voice mail - as usual. Someone before me identified the caller as Portfolio Recovery which does not surprise me in the least. This is a new number from the others I have for Portfolio Recovery. This is the 23rd phone number I have saved in my phone history. Guess I need to get the FTC involved in this matter..... Anyone know of a class action suit going on against them currently??? Thanks to anyone/everyone who might provide me further details,.....

They were sued on a class action lawsuit having to pay out over 9 mil. And yet their rating on BBB stays as an A+. Figure that one out apparently being sued doesn't affect them and they still break The Federal Collection laws. Keep filing complaints with the FCC.

As with all numbers I don't recognize I just pick up the phone and don't say a word. The gentleman had a thick Indian accent and seemed very forceful by saying "Hello" several times, gradually getting angry. I have no debts that are in collections right now that I know of, but I could tell that this was a phone call that had a purpose on their end. Most likely a scam.

I got a call from this number twice already. I got two voice mails, one from a man with a thick accent and another from a woman and all that was said was 'hello', silence then nothing. I thought it was one of those calls where they get you to say something specific to them. 🤷🏽‍♀️ Anyway, it's getting annoying, so I'm blocking.

Got a call from this number, name didn't show up but the city just said Florence, Ky. We had just driven through there and stopped to fill up on gas so I answered. There was no one on the line so I hung up. I want to know how they knew we just drove through that city!

SCAM!!! This number called for the fourth time this week. Nothing was displayed on my caller ID except the number. I decided to answer to hopefully get them to stop calling. He identified himself as Nick Bell. And said he had some personal business to discuss with me. So, I said "Go for it" His response was to ask for my social security number!!! I don't think so! And I asked him what this was regarding. He told me that I until I verified my personal information, he want at liberty to discuss anything with me. What a joke! Then he asked for my address. Nope! So, hevery rudely said he would try back another time when I might be more cooperative and hung up on me! Never once did he identify what company he was calling from or what he was calling about. SCAM!!!

They asked for me using my maiden name and I've been married for 11 1/2 years. If it is some debt that they pulled from that long ago that is just ridiculous. I told them they had the wrong number.

They called, I answered, they hung up. If it were a legitimate debt collector, they’d have no issue going forth with such. 🤷🏼‍♀️ BLOCKED!

I got calls from this number three times this week, the latest being 10 minutes ago. I never answered the call because it looks suspicious. The caller never left message for each of the three calls. I am thankful for the information that you guys shared here. Rule of thumb: never answer calls from unknown numbers.

They call frequently but never leave a message. I don't have any debt in collections, not old enough for any of the insurance or other phone sales going on right now, nor do I need a walk in tub, so.... I'm going to guess this is a scam,

I received a call from this specific number 859-795-5662 and it populated as Portfolio Recovery. What I found interesting was that they were calling to collect a debt from an old Wells Fargo account that was in collections. However, I have reviewed my credit report and I did not find a debt anywhere on my report. The lady that I spoke with was terse with me but did not ask for anything besides trying to settle the payment and a verification of address, which happened to be an old address. Luckily, I just told her that I am busy and cannot set up any kind of payment arrangement.
