HE SAID HE IS SENDING A POLICE OFFICER TO ARREST ME FOR NON PAYING OF CASH ADVANCE. I DON'T REMEMBER AND THE NAME OF THE VENDOR DOES NOT SOUND FAMILIAR.
Called my boss and said they would come to arrest me. They also said they are a law office in New Jersey. I have no business in New Jersey and I work at home, also my boss lives in a completely different state than I do. Scam don't pay any mine!
Got a phone call from this number today. The man presented himself as John Norton, yet he could barely speak plain English.....and his name was John Norton.....really???? He continued by leaving me a message that I should return the phone call immediately or I would regret it. Sorry John, but I don't return phone calls to people who threaten me in a message! Get a life!
Called my work phone said he was a paralegal for a law firm in new jersey. Told me legal action was being taken against me and was being reported to my place of employment and the state attorney generals office. Faxed me a bogus letter from an attorney's office. told me I needed to send 870.00 in the form of a green money pak from a gas station, wal greens, etc. after telling him I'm not paying, he told me someone would be picking me up at my work the next day at 11:00.
This man also had a thick accent. He claimed to be calling from the IRS to collect funds. (I owe nothing) He said he worked for an attorney, John Davenport at a place called South Jersey Law Firm. He even gave me an address: 745 Market St., Camden, NJ 80102. I supposedly owe almost $3000. He also threatened me with a warrant and said I would be arrested. I am so sick of these people. http://www.lsnj.org/sjls/offices.htm Wrong attny and phone numbers... BTW, this is not the website information he gave me.
There was a message left for me at work stating the call is from Dept. of Legal Affairs. The caller' was Chrissy Brown. I am not calling them back because in the past few months I keep getting calls, all from different phone numbers, stating that I owe money to a payday loan company, Check N Go. They supposedly have me on video tape and my fingerprint on the check they gave me. I'm not giving them any money because I haven't had a payday loan.
I received a phone call from a gentleman that called himself Steve McDonald, and like others have stated, he spoke with a very thick accent. He claimed that I received an online payday loan in the amount of $580 and that if I didn't pay him I should "pack my bags and be ready to go to jail" because the police would be here to arrest me at 11:00 tomorrow morning. I have called my local police department and filed a police report. I'm not sure if it will help, or not, but one thing is for sure...HE WILL NOT RECEIVE ANY MONEY FROM ME! These scammers are getting out of hand.
