Claimed to be from the IRS. Stated that the IRS was filing a lawsuit against us. I disregarded the message right away, of course. The IRS isn't in the habit of making threatening phone calls. If there's a problem they usually notify people in writing and follow up with an audit. This is not the only number I have been receiving IRS scamming calls from either. It's quite annoying.
Don't know who called me, didn't leave a message, I don't answer calls from numbers I do not know, and if no message is left I assume they want something I did not solicit for. No message I do not call back. Annoying.
A female with a Filipino(?) accent said she was from microsoft technical support and insisted that windows had been attacked by malware. I asked what I needed to do. She said it would only take a few moments. I was asked to open my computer but I said I didn't have time as I was just going out but I would call back. I asked for her number which she eventually gave but persisted in saying my computer was in danger of crashing etc etc. and when could she call me back. I'm well aware of scammers and this may have been a scam. Does anyone know if Microsoft has made any comment on these calls?
I kept getting calls from this number and they would hang up when I answered. I called the number back and they asked for (name). I told them she doesn't live here. The person from India? said that (name) had been receiving error messages for 2 weeks on her microsoft computer. I asked which one. I kept saying she doesn't live here. He said to expect the attorney and technicians and police at my house Monday morning. Scam I am sure as my daughter doesn't give out our landline number/
