says he's from VISA verification, I call BS

tried to confirm my CVV codes

Called me asking (by machine ) to enter area code, last 4 of SSN. I hung up and checked my online Bank, got the wrong personal assurance message. reported it to bank. we'll see what happens.

I called "verified by visa" and they asked for my zip code, and first and last name before I asked for the number of my bank. They gave me the right number, but I refused to give them any information. I'll call my bank tomorrow.

Said they were Visa Verification wanting to verify possible fraudulent charges on my Golden 1 Account. Checked my account and everything looked fine. I think they're a scam.

17, Sep. 2013This is a valid service. After verifying my personal information the automated message read off the five most recent transactions on my checking account, the most recent being a large amount. I'm glad this transaction alerted my service provider. It shows they're paying attention.

31, Dec. 2014It was really the golden 1 fraud department. I made an in app purchase and my home phone immediately rang and I got the recording. At first I thought it was a phishing scam so I called golden 1 and gave them the info along with the telephone number (800) 624-7486. The lady verified that it was golden 1 attempting to verify my in app purchase on my account and because I hadn't completed the process my account was frozen. (They should only ask for your zip code and last 4 of your social.) Eventually they sent a secured message to their fraud department and unfroze my account.

12, Sep. 2017It's a legitimate call from Golden 1 credit union. I followed up with them and my check card number was being used to buy "subscription" services. Around $100. I denied the charge and they put a hold on it. I'm going down to get a replacement card now.

This may be legit - but I called Golden1 directly - there was nothing suspicious on my activity. The woman I talked to claims G1 uses live persons to do fraud detection calls. However, this number knew both my work and my cell number, and the choices they gave me for selections had the correct answer in them. I cancelled my card and am getting a new one.

13, Dec. 2017Never, ever, ever, give out personal information to anybody who calls like this, no matter how many times it says on websites that the call is legitimate. Call your bank directly using the numbers on your card! Anybody can write here that it's legitimate, even the people who want your info. Be smart. THIS IS A PHISHING ATTEMPT. THEY NOW USE THESE REPORTING SITES TO POST FALSE COMMENTS TO GET YOU TO BELIEVE IT'S FROM GOLDEN 1. DON'T FALL FOR IT AND DON'T FALL FOR THE FAKE POSTS.
