This is the third time these people have called. From what I have read on the internet, I'm not the only one having a problem with them. Thanks for your help.
STAY OFF MY CELL PHONE!!! I AM SO TIRED OF MY PRIVACY BEING INVADED...ESPECIALLY WHILE I AM IN THE HOSPITAL!!!!!!
From the FTC site: What To Do When You Get an Illegal Robocall; http://www.ftc.gov/bcp/edu/microsites/robocalls Hang Up. Do not press 1 or any other numbers to get off the list and NEVER call them back. Report it at http://www.fcc.gov/complaints and at https://www.ftccomplaintassistant.gov EVERYONE should be reporting them. It is important to keep up the pressure even though nothing seems to be getting done, or else the government will just sit back and claim they are doing a good job since there are fewer complaints. These criminals need to be charged with FEDERAL FELONIES and subjected to significant prison time. Since this is an obvious attempt at identity theft the FBI should be forced to get involved. Charge them with a CRIMINAL offense and throw them in prison (Prosecute them in criminal court instead of civil penalties).
I too and getting calls from these people. I tag them in my phone as spammers so that I won't accidentally pick up when they call. I have reported them numerous times to the FTC but to no avail. When i block their number, they are back within a couple of weeks calling from a different number. Endless and very wrong!!!!
These greedy low- lifers are annoying as hell!!!! I too will report them.
They call my cell phone every day. they need to be stopped. you can file a complaint at https://complaints.donotcall.gov/complaint/complaintcheck.aspx Once enough people have reported them the government will take actions.
called back and it said it was disconnected. it was only 30 minutes later
Called at 7pm - recorded message of some credit card lower percentage. Pressed 1 to yell at them to take my no. off - had to listen to some stupid music for 5 min. Hang up! It's harrassment. I complained at the Do Not Call Registry - they keep calling! Get off my back! I am NOT interested!
Pick up phone and nobody was on the othe line. Try calling back and a recording states number disconnected or u dail wrong please check the number
Tried to call number back and recording said it was disconnected, So how was it used to make these spammer calls?
These people are trying to get people to give them their credit card information by making the offer to lower interest rate. It does no good to complain to the FTC because, even if the FTC were to impose the maximum penalty, that penalty is too lenient to make them stop. The only solution is to flood your Senators and Congressional Reps with demands to pass a stronger law. They aren't doing anything else so why not this? Surely this would get bipartisan support. These people are using a method called "switch number" to avoid detection. "Switch number" is used by "phone hobbyists" What the hell is a phone hobby? Anybody know what that is? Clearly, "switch number" should be illegal unless it is required for a national security reason. WRITE YOUR REPRESENTATIVES!!
To get rid of them ---- When these "credit services" call you, give them some phony detail that you prepared ahead of time (keep that in your wallet). You are welcome to use the same phony detail as I do: Credit balance: about $7000 , on a single card Credit Card: Discover - 6011 7719 9820 6478 Expiration: (Next month; e.g. 8/2013) Card phone number: 1-800-DISCOVER Last 4 digits of Social Sec. Num: 5240 Name on card: SAM JOSEPH ZIP and address: 95014 - 10990 Stelling Rd. Cupertino CA Try to sound sincere. When they return to you with "card not in the system" then say "Oh -- I just moved" and give them another Zip and address (use some previous address of yours, etc.) This may take place several times, but eventually they'll figure you are a waste of their time, and stop calling you.
Always the lower your interest rate bs...no one likes being harassed by these ppl from loads of different numbers it's ridiculous
This was probably a robocall, because when I ran and picked up, there was nobody there. Here is something I have heard messes up their autodialers: when you pick up and say hello and nobody answers, press the pound and star key back and forth, one after the other. I don't know if it actually works, but it makes me feel better to do it! I have also written to my state AG's office about a couple of them, but can't spare the time to do this every time one of these bozos annoys me. I appreciate the efforts of those of you here who are reporting these calls. These people are hurting productivity of other people, even if they don't succeed in robbing anyone. They need to be prosecuted!
In spite of being on the do not call registry, these calls keep coming in to my cell phone. Reporting them to the ftc does no good. They just change the phone number and keep making their robocalls. I am beyond annoyed that nothing ever seems to work to get rid of these idiots.
12 bcalls in one day but their number disconnected
"todd" actually told me to go **** myself when i calmly asked him to remove me from list...the other 7-9 times they just hung up.
CHILL OUT ITS JUST A PHONE CALL
Don't answer the phone unless they leave a message.
Called number on do-not-call list. No clue who it was, since they left no message. It's a regular thing, just like so many others have said; they are spoofing the caller ID, I suspect.
For android phone users I recommend "Call Control". It's free.(google play store). If someones not in my contact list and they aren't in 1 of the 3 area codes I put in(my local area codes), they get automatically hung up on. (my phone doesn't even ring, it just picks up and hangs up immediately). The only way I got this number to look this up was thru my "Call Control" log.
They have called me three times already today, this is nonsense!
"Kelly at Consumer Law" called wanting to lower my interest rate. It is a complete scam. They eventually ask for your credit card number. When they know you aren't an idiot they get extremely rude and crude and hang up on you. I've reported them every time to the DO NOT CALL list but that hasn't done any good.
