Initially it seemed like they were a collection agency, as they were looking for a particular individual who we do not know. When I said that we did not know the individual they claimed that they were the Kansas Lottery- we are in Kansas- but the number is from New York. I suspect that they may be law enforcement, or a private detective. I don't think collection agencies are allowed to lie about who they are. Maybe I am naive.
The number came up on caller id as 516-777-0927, but Samantha Donald left a voicemail to call her back at 855-232-0759. Her message was to call back regarding a legal matter and it was imperative that i call back today. She didn't state who or what company she was with. I decided to call the number that came on caller id.Some lady named Michelle answered without identifying once a gain the name of the company she was with. I told her i had the wrong number, so said no I didn't that I oviously got a call from them and was returning the call. I told her no then hung up. I believe this is a scam! What company does not identify themselves whether when leaving a message or when you call them back.
Reveived a call from this number two times stating to call regarding a legal matter. It was important that I call and update my records. OK, so why would I call to update my records for a legal matter? Um wouldn't you already have my information, huh. It's a scam!
Same as above. Received a recorded message from Samantha Donald stating it was imperative that I call her today to verify my mailing address so that she could mail a legal notice. She never mentioned my name in the call or stated who the message was for. This sounds really shady to me.
got calls from 516-777-0927 on 9/13/2012 (3:27 PM EST), 10/10/2012 (2:38 PM EST) and 11/7/2012 (5:11 PM EST). (will the next one be on 12/4/2012??). I let all go to voicemail and did not call back, figuring if it were real then "Samantha Donald" would have stated her company's name and provided more specific info explaining what this was all about. The 3 voicemails were identical, so it must have been a replayed recording (the voice sounds like a white woman who is bored with her job and annoyed at having to call me): "This is Samantha Donald. I'm looking to confirm an address for a legally required notice to be issued. It is imperative that you contact me to confirm this address today so that we can update our records. This is not a sales or solicitation call. Please contact me at (855) 232-0759. Thank you."
Same as everyone else no name of who she was looing for and not company name for Ms. Donald, Can you say SCAM! "This is Samantha Donald. I'm looking to confirm an address for a legally required notice to be issued. It is imperative that you contact me to confirm this address today so that we can update our records. This is not a sales or solicitation call. Please contact me at (855) 232-0759. Thank you."
Same message left on my voice mail. If it is a legal matter, they should have all my info.
It's against the law not to state the name of the company calling, specially since she said it's a legal notice'. If it were a true legal matter, they would have to leave the name of the company and state who they are looking for.
Same message left on my voice mail. If it is a legal matter, they should have all my info. Read more at http://www.whycall.me/516-777-0927.html#AuLTe600XClK8xuw.99
They have called several times for an Amanda. I told the man that I was not Amanda, and he started threatening me with a lawyer. He called back on an entirely different # when I wouldn't tell him who I was. These people need to be taken out of business.
