Caller spoke clear English and left a message telling me “he has worked my file and is able to lower my interest rate on my mortgage. All i needed to do was to have me call him back and he would finish working the file and close the deal with my mortgage company at a new lower rate” fyi: i currently pay 2% interest. I knew it was a scam but had nothing to do at the time so i went ahead and called him back. I asked him to verify my current interest rate and he was unable to. I then asked him to verify the last 4 of my ssn. He couldn’t. I then asked him to verify my address. He couldn’t. So i then asked him if he would like my current place of employment. He eagerly stated YES! So i told him i work with the FBI’s Fraud Division and thanked him for making our job to catch these scammers easier. He then called me a few foul names and hung up when i started laughing. I know it’s wrong to impersinate an officer even over the phone but i just couldn’t resist how easy it was to throw the garbage he gave me back on him! I doubt he will call back but blocked his number! Be wise! These people want your money and will lie through their teeth to get it!

Phone doesn't ring, but I get a voicemail message from "Steven from Benchmark" claiming he's gotten me the $55,000 we talked about. When I called back and told them to stop trying to scam me, "Corey" answers, but it's obviously the same person. I'm still getting called. I can't block the number because it just says "private" where the number should be.

Stephen with Benchmark. Something about being approved for up to 55k that can be used to pay off bills. Call goes straight to my voicemail. My phone doesn't ring at all when "he" calls. I also got a call from the same "person" with the number 628-204-8539 using the same wording just a different callback number.

Steven from Benchmark has called me twice. I just get a voice mail, not even a missed call. I'd like to know how that is done. He even ends with the comment, "have a blessed day!" How can this guy feel good about what he is doing?

He told he was calling from Quality One and got me approved for up to $55K for debt relief. I never applied for any type of debt relief. Deleted the voicemail and did not call back. Researched the number and found this trail of everyone else he as called.

Received call 2 days in a row. Phone call initially comes through with no caller ID but caller leaves message at which point the number is displayed. Caller leaves message that sounds like you initially called him regarding debt consolidation.

Caller calls but when you try to answer, the call is disconnected/dropped, but the caller goes to voicemail and leaves a message. There is an app that does this so that the caller goes straight to voicemail and you receive a missed call. It usually rings once or right when you pick up but the app drops the call. Any way, the voicemail is the same as the reviews saying his name is Stephen from Benchmark and approved for a debt loan up to $55k.

Has called twice and leaves a message that I'm approved for $55K in debt relief, call within next few days, this will satisfy my debt once and for all and ends with "have a blessed day." Like that instills confidence in this a-hole. Number shows as "unknown" on caller ID and therefore can't be blocked, but a-hole leaves a call back number. Not worth reporting to FTC - all it does is refer me to their list of ways to prevent this type of call on its website: use do not call list. I'm already on the do not call list., that doesn't work. Very frustrating.
