Asian woman says she is calling about an virus on our Windows Computer and my husband told her we had an Apple computer. She quickly said they deal with both Apple and PC and there is a problem with out computer. My husband said, "no thanks" and she hung up. Caller ID says John Kendall and the number, when you call it back, goes to a fast busy signal.
Same as the others. Strong Indian accent claiming to be from MicroSoft and he wanted to "help" me with my Windows system. After ignoring him and hanging up, I checked the caller ID and found that he had called twice already that day without leaving a message. Indeed a scam; beware
Calls my number constantly and now using different phone numbers with the same story. That they are tracking my computer and are from Windows NT and there is a problem. When I told them I was reporting them to the National No Call List, they keep wanting to know if I am not interested in their concern for my computer. I told them don't call and had to hang up. Now I am receiving calls from this number. If you try to call one of the other numbers the call can not be completed. I am reporting them to the National No Call List and hopefully this can be stopped. I received a call at 10:15 p.m.
Is there no way to stop this junk ???
This was a run-of-the-mill "Windows error message" scammer. I keep a virtual machine that clears all events on startup, so they did not know what to do when I told them there were no errors in my Event Viewer. They hung up. C*cks*ckers.
Like everyone else. He wanted me to go online so i pretended too he wanted me to type in www.emyy.com and messing with him and said. OOOOMMMGGGG ITS p**n he asked again and i said it again lol soo then he proceded to ask what was on the screen and a i said a bunch of titties. He changed his additude and said are you fuucken with me. Im going to fuuck your mom your wife sister daugher and believe it or not son.. apperently all in the pusssy with with his big d**k. He even said it 9. I said hahah 9mm right and he agreed and he kept repeating and rambling on alot of that. He finally hungup when i told him he musta lost his dot and go back to his country and i was gunna kill a cos. It was funny. Ide love for him to come to my house tonight like he said he would. He would be a gonner lol
called at 630 in the morning . Very annoying Did not speak!!!
Said our Computer was sending out e-mails, husband told him we do not own a computer.
Nancy from 'Microsoft ' called me to tell me that I had a virus on my computer and for a credit card number they would fix it.
Like othe reports, asked me to turn on my computer and go to the internet. hmm. sounds like a duck, walks like a duck, must be a duck...Scamming/phishing.
Same as above....total stranger wanted to fix my perfectly good, brand new computer. I told him to stick his head up his ***, and he hung up.
This number called, and an Indian lady was trying to get my parents to give access to their computer by telling them that a virus was somehow detected by them. My parents are very well covered by anti-virus software, and they knew this...so they called me to see what the lady was talking about. I made them aware it was a scam and they hung up on the caller. The week before, it was a similar situation from that same number, only not a computer scam, but one with Direct TV.
Called me at 6:15 am. I have a new baby so any bad situation he gas in life has created bad Karma. Why can't we stop American's from outsourcing their phone scams to India? I constantly have calls routed through the USA calling. The Do Not Call Lists aren't international so we,Canadians, are at the mercy of this loophole.
Name and number came up on my caller I.D. I let it go to my answering machine and he did not leave a message. So glad to find that I was right not to answer.
similar as above. Caller ID shows John Kendall
This is an odd one as it I could see the caller ID, John Kendall, but I let it go to voicemail and of course it/they didn't leave on. I called back, blocking my number and got a long series of issues related to Asterix or Asterisk. It was a woman's voice recording saying if you have this dial 1234, if you have that need dial 600. Each one I punched did nothing, it just continued with a bunch of technical gibberish. I finally waited till that ended and it sounded like I was hearing a room with far off construction, like metal sounds etc. I think it was probably a dead line sound though. I let it run for 5 minutes with no change. I despise these calls. They are just becoming out of control.
Got a call from John Kendall's number yesterday. Man with East Indian accent identified himself as Max from Microsoft. He stated my computer had serious errors and they needed to be fixed. I was very cautious as I suspected it was not legitimate. He then wanted me to download software called TeamViewer. CAUTION: If you download this software, you will give control of your computer over to this dishonest group of people. Then all your information will be at risk! When I told him I would not download anything until I checked it out and then offered to call him back if it was legitimate, he hung up.
He called me as well and claimed to be Windows Technical Department. I told him, "You're a bad man trying to steal from people...I bet your mother cries herself to sleep every night." He hung up after that. I contacted the FBI because this guy wouldn't stop calling, and they told me that the name and phone # are bogus too (they use IP protocol servers to mask that they're calling from overseas). These guys are nothing more than crooks so DOT NOT give them any information about your system! Also, if you were tricked into giving them info, contact the FBI Internet Crime division at- http://www.ic3.gov/default.aspx
They say they're from "The Windows Department" and that the call is about my computer. I went through a few minutes of the call to see what the scam was. They tell you to go in to files and change things but I didn't do any of it. I just kept saying: "Yep, I see that file. OK, I see that too..." but I wasn't even at my computer. I think they're having you set up your PC so that they can either gain info, or use it to be part of a path that includes many hijacked computers.
After I answer, no one speaks just hangs up on me. Hey!
Don't say nothing, than computer voice saying Goodbye and then hang-up.
