I got a call from some fake paralegal that spoke in an Indian accent telling me that my sister was being sued and that I needed to contact Daxter Cruz Attorney at Law at (323)362-6015. They called from this number (925)459-3420. Supposedly I had to contact the attorney because he needed to speak to me. I called and they told me to call back in 10 to 15 minutes because the attorney was at lunch. The time was 10:38 AM, and the attorney was at lunch? RED FLAG!!!! I decided to look up this bozo and found out he was a scammer, so I contacted police, I was told to not give out any info, and that if he calls again I could file a phone harrasment report. The Indian guy called back, I told him to serve me paperwork of the lawsuit, otherwise I was not comfortable replying to him over the phone. He kept with his story that I needed to call immediately or that there would be consequences. He also said that he was trying to help me out, and I told him to send the lawsuit paperwork and the court subpoena, but he just got rude and said if you do not call back that he was going to send investigators to my front door. I told him bring them and whatever other you want to bring, but if you dont have court paperwork or anything saying something about calling me up to court, then I will not talk. He then told me to hold the line, and after 13 seconds, he hung up. So whatever you do, always investigate the name, because chances are (like it was in this case) that an a**hole is always trying to freeload from someone. Another good way to catch the person is through a trap line, because most people that do these scams are phone "spoofers" where they change there Call ID number by using a spoofing service. Check out "spoofing" in any search ingine, and you will see how that works.
