was just called about them giving away 3 trips.. but they want a one time fee of $499.00.Is this a scam?
southern accent women telling me I have won 3 trips and 2 thousand dollars if I had the bottom of the receipt of my entry form with a conformation # on it... I did not have one and she said that's ok go grab your check book and we can use a voided check... absolutely not I replyed
Also a woman calling to tell me I won trips and cash after having registered at an expo of some sort. I did not. She asked if I wanted it delivered in the morning or afternoon by USPS. Big red flag since the post office only delivers once a day! Proceeded to tell me I had to pay the processing fee & she could accept a check by phone. I laughed & she hung up.
Said she was sorry she did not get back to me earlier. Said that I had won a trip. She was very hard to understand. Her English was not good. I told her I did not sign up for anything and she said one of my family must have signed me up. She was going to give me a cruise and 5000 dollars but no money to gamble with. I just needed to send her a voided check. I hung up.
Called me on my cell phone yesterday to say she was calling about my "entry." Heavy accent and long delays in answering my "What?" and "Who is this?" questions lead me to believe this 218 number showing on my caller i.d. is fake and call is actually coming from another country. I hung up and same caller called back today with same line. I hung up again.
Unknown caller from my home town, Virginia, MN. Left no message. I did not call back.
Female caller with a southern accent claims that I won a trip and $5000 in cash. I asked her how did she get my name. She said that I had entered a mail-in sweepstakes to win a trip. I told her how I can enter if I had been disabled for 4 years and could not travel, etc. She kept arguing and said that maybe someone else entered it for me. How can anyone enter it when no one is here at home etc. She finally hung-up. Really startled her. Absolutely a SCAMMER on the run.
