They call everyday. They call my cell phone and my husband's work cell phone that is not in his name but his employer's name. Also calling my elderly mother all hours of the day.
They're trying to get me to buy some sort of "emergency alert" system. You know...one of those "I've fallen and I can't get up" things.
About 11 a.m. a male phoned about our "order" which we do not have anything on order so we just hung up.
We have received multiple calls from this number, with no message left. We have never answered, because there is no id of the caller shown. This is extremely annoying, and particularly because we are on the do not call list.
call came up "New York" on caller id...did not answer
This call is from Medical Alert, saying I ordered and is ready to be shipped , need to press ! now. I have never in my life been so disgusted at scams using this tactic to make money, God have mercy on your souls for taking advantage of old people, may it come back on their heads double fold
Calls continuously never leaves a message . Can anyone do something about these calls or are we just spinning our wheels when we file these complaints.
time to buy one of those blow horns and blast the f*** out of his eardrums after i answer it. see if they keep calling back then
This was a robocaller and scammer from NY. Please realize that writing your complaint here does not cause any reporting or investigating into this scammer/telemarketer/robocaller. This site and similar ones exist only so you and I can see what other people have written about this caller. It's like a public notepad - that's all. If you want any action to be taken, you need to file your complaint with the FTC! I see that Zero people have filed an official complaint as of 3-18-2014. If your garden is getting raided and destroyed every night, why complain to some random neighbor about how the police are not doing their job? Report the issue to the police! If it doesn't get resolved, then you can complain to your neighbor. Same goes for this situation. Report the problem to someone whose job it is to do something! https://www.consumer.ftc.gov/articles/0076-phone-scams#Robo Click on the "FTC online" link in the middle of the page, to get to the FTC Complaint Assistant to report the issue. Or call them with the number provided. You must also realize that scammers like this robocaller are operating illegally - they're not abiding by the National Do Not Call Registry. The Do Not Call Registry works perfectly fine for law-abiding citizens and businesses. But these callers are not law-abiding - they're operating outside the telemarketing rules and the Do Not Call Registry. They are constantly finding ways around the system so they don't get caught. So do your part - report these callers to the FTC! If they get enough complaints, maybe they'll up the priority on their investigation. It's my opinion that this site and others like it should be more than just a public notepad. I wish they would file reports to the FTC. Why can't they work together?
Agree with Bettina, these sites should do something with the info we provide. No call does nothing oh how we would love to hurt these guys or gals. R they retarded , who would give them any info?
They do not leave a message. I have no idea who it is or why they called. It is not the first time.
Answering machine only caught the last half of call, but it was about a "medical alert" device. Ironically my husband just turned 65. So much for paying for an unlisted phone number all these years....
Since it's an automated message, I only caught part of the message...some garbage about "if you act now, we will also include $1,000 in grocery coupons, blah, blah, blah...blocked!
My answering machine caught the FREE offer for medical alert system, and if I responded today I would also get: $1,000 in grocery savings PLUS a 75% discount prescription card. Blocked the number on my phone and filed complaint with FTC.
Trying to sell an emergency alert system. Call blocker works great. I just love it when the phone rings one time and that's all, because someone just got rejected. Ha! Ha! Also I will file a complaint with the FTC for whatever that worth.
I am so sick of these calls, WHY can't anyone do anything about this??? We have elderly family that lives in NY, so I have to answer the darn thing....just in case. The name keeps changing, so I have to at least look to make sure it's not my family! Makes me so mad! I am sick of it! I also have started getting these darn calls on my cell. I am about to throw the thing out the window!
another robocaller - hung up before message could say what they are trying to sell
Received my first call from this robo caller today. Bettina's info is priceless (re filing complaint with FTC) THANKS Bettina. My way of dealing with these calls (when there is a live person on the other end),is to put the phone down (without hanging up) and going for a cup of coffee. If it's a recorded message, I just hang up and move on with life. Best advice - don't answer if you don't recognize the number or if you do answer to stop the ringing, just press END CALL. There's no law that says you must respond.
