Called the number back from a Department of Defense (DOD) phone line at work , because they are unable to trace my number. I informed them that I am federal employee with the DOD. I was called every name in the book cause I am wasting his time. The man acknowledged that he is a scammer and doesn't want me to waste his time anymore.

Cut into voicemail with someone not speaking very clearly, very blah sounding. I made out something about reverting back then resulting in arrest and I can basically call back to speak to an officer. Very weird and scary.

I got a recorded voice message that was partially cut off, but said that a lawsuit was being filed against me and that failure to respond would result in an arrest warrant being issued. The message said to call back and contact Officer Ariana Cox (or a name that sounded similar to that - unclear what exactly it was). This seemed to be a fraudulent call, since that is not how lawsuits work. I called the number back to see what they would say. The person who answered claimed to be "John Miller" and said he was from the Internal Revenue Service (IRS). He spoke with what sounded like a foreign accent. I told him that I believed this to be a spam call and told him not to call me again and he just said "okay." I reported this incident to both the Treasury Department and the FTC. Same as above, twice in last two days. Poor recording of someone saying something about calling back as this was last chance to resolve lawsuit or an arrest warrant would be issued, call 202-239-0798 and ask for "Ariana Cox". Reported yesterday and again today to IRS and FTC...

Was called 8 times in 2 weeks. Every time I called back I was sent to a voicemail. Finally made contact and was asked for my mailing address to pull up my file. I stated that I would not give them that information over the phone and they could send me a letter in the mail. He hung up on me.

I never answer calls unless I know who is calling. The message left was a recording telling me the IRS was going to sue me, and that I should call the above number immediately. I can see from the above comments they have been very busy in the new year

Received a call from 202-239-0798 stating they're from IRS and they are proceeding with a lawsuit against me and have made "several" attempts to contact me to avoid a legal action. I googled the number and found this forum. I figured it sounded bogus since IRS always sends something in the mail if they need to contact me. SCAM!
